This product is from a farm in Aoi Ward, Shizuoka City.
We are offering 8kg of Suruga Amatsu (a type of summer orange) harvested from our farm.
(Mixed sizes, approximately 20-25 pieces.)
These are the same as Suruga Elegant commonly sold in supermarkets, but we are selling them as Suruga Amatsu due to certain circumstances.
These are Grade B fruits with sunspots, rough skin, or blemishes compared to regular products, and are offered at a lower price.
This summer orange is a hybrid of Amatsu and Buntan (pomelo), characterized by a higher sugar content and a mellow aroma than typical Amatsu.
While these oranges usually become available around March, we focus on tree-ripened perfection, harvesting and selling them at this time when the balance of sweetness and refreshing acidity is optimal for delicious consumption.
The orchard for these Suruga Amatsu is located separately from our Unshu mandarin orange orchard, and is cultivated without the use of pesticides.
You can safely use the peel for marmalade and other preparations!
We will use our farm's Unshu mandarin orange boxes for shipping.
