This is a 2-way swag (garland) and shimenawa (sacred rope) decoration.

This shimenawa decoration incorporates auspicious items and warding off evil.
After the New Year, you can enjoy it as a swag (garland).

The star of the show is the Japanese pampas grass!
Japanese pampas grass is considered a divine vessel (yorishiro),
and its hollow stem is said to be a marker where gods can easily reside.
Its sharp leaves are believed to ward off evil and prevent disaster.
I thought the natural curl from drying would also be lovely (o^^o).
(The Japanese pampas grass is dried before the plumes emerge, so the plumes are firm.)

The evergreens are preserved flowers, so they will retain their green color for several years.
The pampas grass is inspired by the mane of the horse, the zodiac animal of the year.
I have imbued the shimenawa with a refreshing atmosphere to welcome the new year.

  Fruits (Nandina, pine cones, Chinese hackberry, Viburnum erosum)
  Evergreens (Cedar, Blue Ice cypress, Mountain juniper)

  No watering is required, and they can be enjoyed for a long time if stored in good conditions.
  However, they dislike high temperatures and humidity, are weak to ultraviolet rays, and will deteriorate depending on the environment.
